Flanders is fortunate not to have experienced overtourism, yet recognizes that it is not immune and must take steps to ensure it develops a visitor economy that works for hosts as well as guests. To add to the discussion we’d like to share a link to a documentary made by the Dutch public broadcaster VPRO and aired last year.
Contributors include change agent Anna Pollock, Gerben Hardeman from ANVR and Tony Wheeler, creator of the Lonely Planet guides. All were doing their hippy thing – travelling the world on a very, very low budget – at the same time, but never met.
